Par-Kut guard booths, also known as guard houses, guard shacks and security booths require minimum maintenance. However, daily use and exposure to regular weather or sometimes harsh conditions can lead to deterioration of the window seals, weather stripping, your door hardware, the roof coating and the window caulking.

We suggest that your guard booth, guard house or security booth be cleaned and rinsed at least once every year, particularly in coastal regions with constant exposure to the sea air and high salt conditions or in congested urban or heavy industrial areas where air borne pollutants can build up on the surfaces of the guard booth. Rinsing your security building will help offset the corrosive effects of salt and other contaminants.

Before winter, we recommend that you check the weather stripping on your hinged and sliding doors of your guard houses as well as any sliding windows there might be within the building. Par-Kut can provide you with replacement materials or sources, and provide tips for installing sliding doors or sliding windows. We also recommend you clean the dirt and debris of all rolling door and sliding window tracks and hardware. In addition, it’s a good idea to check a heater as well. If your security booth heater has been damaged beyond repair, the Par-Kut parts and service department can quote you with a new one.

Before summer, we recommend you check the air conditioners of your guard booth or guard shack to make sure if the filters are clean, because a dirty filter can cause the air conditioner to freeze up and run rough. Or at minimum, inefficiently. Once again, if you think the air conditioner is not performing as it should, contact the Par-Kut service department for some troubleshooting assistance.

If your standard Par-Kut guard house is over seven years old, and it has a flat roof, we suggest you re-coat the roof surface. We also recommend you to check to confirm no penetrations have been made in the roof surface by workers installing utilities such as power, cameras, or phone lines. If you see any penetrations in the roof surface, they need to be sealed.
